Sonja London is the founder and driving force behind Fearless IP. Recognised globally for her leadership in IP strategy and commercialisation, she has been ranked for many years among the world’s top 300 IP strategists by IAM Strategy 300. Her work is characterised by a pragmatic, results-oriented approach to helping companies transform intellectual assets into strategic advantage.
Multisector Licensing Expertise
With more than two decades of experience, Sonja has worked extensively with cellular, Wi-Fi, audio, and video codec SEPs for mobile devices, infrastructure, automotive, IoT and consumer electronics. She has developed a number of patent licensing programmes for SEPs and non-SEPs and worked closely with patent pools. At TactoTek, a pioneer in smart surface and structural electronics, she served as General Counsel and Licensing Executive, overseeing global IP, licensing, standardization, and compliance. Sonja has extensive hands-on experience in high-stake international licensing negotiations.
Academic Credentials and Practical Focus
Sonja holds a Master of Laws from the University of Helsinki and an Executive MBA from Aalto University. Her hands-on expertise spans the development of IP strategies, design and execution of licensing programmes, and strategic use of innovative IP business models across multiple industries and technologies.
Board-Level Influence
Sonja contributes actively at board level in growth and technology-driven companies. She has over 15 years of experience as a board professional, ranging from early-stage start-ups to publicly listed companies. She currently serves on the boards of Kesla Oyj (forestry and material handling technology, listed on OMX Helsinki), Berggren Oy (IP services), and SolidComp Oy (industrial digital twin SaaS).

Sonja is passionate about bringing experts and professionals together for sharing, learning and networking. As Immediate Past President of the Licensing Executives Society International (LESI), Sonja has played a key role in shaping global collaboration in commercialisation of IP assets. Her earlier leadership positions include president, board and treasurer roles at LESI and the Licensing Executives Society Scandinavia.

Sonja is a respected speaker and trainer, valued for her clear, practical insights into licensing, monetisation, royalty compliance, and IP strategy.
